Our Fitness Challenge (OFC) is an online community of people who have come together to accomplish a goal.  We support each other, challenge each other, and together we are succeeding.  This is the current day Battle of the Bulge... and we are going to win this battle.

The challenge is rooted in four ideas.  Accountability, Competition, Commitment, and Community.

Accountability is the cornerstone of this site.  By having regularly scheduled weigh ins and public exercise logs our members have made a commitment to put their struggle out in front of the public.  By showing the world our successes and failures we will create accountability and incentives to accomplish our goals.  It is very easy for any of us to rationalize a bad choice in our heads.  However, when the scrutinizing eyes of our friends, families, and fellow team members see our progress (or lack of progress) we are more likely to make the right choices.

Competition is an important aspect of this site.  Many times competition is viewed as trying to keep another down.  We don't share this view.  Competition can raise the level of effort, inginuety, and determination to unthinkable levels.  Competition can be about all sides striving for their best.  We believe that by encouraging competition among each other that we will reach our goals faster and help push our team mates towards theirs faster.

Commitment is what drives members of OFC every day.  This is not a quick process.  Our transformations will take time and we have each committed to making the changes necessary to reach our goals.  Commitment keeps us posting our successes and failures.  Commitment makes us hop right back on the wagon when we fall off.  Commitment is what drives the people here to see this challenge through to the end.

Community is what has developed here.  Individually we all have weaknesses.  Together we cannot fail.  We encourage each other, we help each other, and we succeed together.  We have group goals because they help to drive us on to success.  We set virtual workout dates, we strive to reach milestones for our weight loss as a group, and make sure that every member knows that they have friends going through the same challenge.

Are you ready for the challenge?
